The prominent fifth is the first of two par-3’s, and is a striking hole for a number of its features. Play begins on an elevated tee box overlooking a short stretch of fairway which descends the ridge you played coming up number two. The sprawling green at the bottom of the fairway belies the notion that landing your tee shot here somehow makes a birdie or even a par automatic. Undulating lines make your putt from anywhere on the green a test of skill and nerve. Half way between the tee box and the green, near the top of the ridge, you will notice the White Rock. It’s one of the reasons we encourage every golfer to keep a permanent marker in the bag – because if your ball hits it, local etiquette insists that you sign the rock!
